What sparks my inspiration for conceptual art?
冬日的一天总是过得这么快，月光在玻璃窗上镀上了一层薄薄的淡黄色，不知不觉中黑夜悄悄地爬上了心头。一只猫在小巷的不远处嗥叫，好似向人们宣告这一天接近了尾声。屋内早已漆黑一片，我并打算开灯，任由黑暗贯穿整个角落。轻轻擦拭我的半音阶口琴，慢慢地放到唇边，先微微的小吹几个音符，浑厚的颤音瞬时在屋内飘飘然，而后隐秘于黑暗之中。
Daytime always found its way to meet with nighttime pretty soon in winter. As we knew it, the moon shaded a soft yellow light on the windowpane while a cat meowed in the distance of alley as if he was informing people that’d be the end of the day. As the night finally crept up my heart, the house was in the total dark already. I intended not to turn on the light, letting the darkness fill in every corner of the house. I wiped off the dust from my chromatic harmonica with care, slowly fumbling at the holes. A few musical notes for a starter vibrated from the reed, leaving no trail to be found in the darkness.
我顿了顿，闭上双眼，开始吹奏我的心之曲，内心深处也随着悠扬起伏的音符上下波动，任凭琴音在各个房间游走，彼时我早已不能自己，在时间与空间中迷失了方向。
On playing, I closed my eyes and paused for a moment. Then there came the music. My heart followed with my song, flowing gently high and low. And then, I lost the track of the time and space while the song of my heart was flying around the room to room.
我以为音乐可以打破时间的束缚、空间的界限、文化地域的不同，牵引着双耳直击听众的心灵。艺术亦是如此，无需多说什么，仅仅通过视觉的呈现、色彩的相互交融、场景的描绘，动静结合的手法、光与影的映衬，便能很好的碰撞读者的内心深处，产生共鸣。而我也非常荣幸，在近期的“Night Scenes Photo and Art Contest (Corel夜景摄影与艺术绘画国际比赛)”中获胜，我的绘画作品“Moonlight Shadow Night (月夜)”从众多的摄影和艺术作品中，在艺术绘画板块一栏荣登榜首。该比赛由全球前十的套装软件生产厂商，系知名数位多媒体应用之领导者Corel赞助，Corel Discovery Center主办，经过评审团从美感、构图、故事性、专业性等多方面评比而出。
Music might break the chain of time, the limitation of space and the difference of culture, leading the listeners’ ears to collide with their hearts. Arts might have the same impact as well, I thought. The visual images, the mixture of colors, the depiction of scenes, the dynamic and static drawing skills, the light and shadows, etc. Just enjoy, leaving nothing to say. The artwork speaks itself and reaches into the deep of your heart to boost your feelings. As for me, so did my artworks. And I was pretty honored that I was awarded a prize and one of my artworks, or “Moonlight Shadow Night” was a winner in art entry in the Night Scenes Photo and Art Contest hosted by Corel Discovery Center and sponsored by Corel Corporation. Among all the photos and artworks, the sponsor selected three winners from all eligible entries by their great sense of beauty, composition, storytelling and other professional skills.
我的2019年也因此画上了句号。现在我将这幅获奖作品呈现给大家，分享我的创作历程。这幅概念艺术绘画灵感来源于一部电影的背景乐，那天夜晚我刚看完《八月迷情》，被一首Moondance口琴独奏所深深吸引，于是乎，我开始扒歌，一个音符一个音符的比对，几个小时的拼凑，我成功学会并能吹奏出完整的背景乐。午夜时分，明月光辉下，我爬上天台背对着山吹起我的布鲁斯……
Because of this, my year of 2019 had marked with an amazing closure. And now I wanted to share my story of how I got the spark to create this award-winning artwork. The inspiration began with the movie “August Rush”, which’s had many great music tracks. One of the BGM was played with harmonica, or “Moondance”, and I was totally attracted to it. So I started to copy every tunes and notes of this track by listening to it for hours and hours. At midnight, I mastered this song and played at the rooftop as the moon revealed behind the cloud.
脑海中好似有一团迷雾飘忽不定，而后渐渐清晰，想象着自己在一个四面环水的岛上，就地取材筑造了一栋小屋，屋前的火光带来一丝丝的暖意，幽幽地湖水泛起阵阵波纹，映衬出小屋模糊的倒影。天空中的一轮明月，正如我在天台看到的样子，在繁星的点缀下尤为皎洁。整个夜晚被蒙上了一层蓝色调，“静”如止水。
There was a mist forming in my head, then all of sudden, it came clear. I imagined myself on an island where the lake lying around. I built a wooden villa while made a fire in front of the house. The fire brought warmth, offering the reflation of the house from the lake. Together with the stars in the sky, the moon shone as bright as the one above the rooftop, which covered the night in total blue. I felt the inner peace as if the still water, quiet and peaceful.
于是乎，我先为画布赋予了一层蓝色系，随后在视觉的黄金比例中勾勒出一栋木屋，画笔一遍又一遍的描绘其建筑结构。依据那夜晚天台上光与影的角度，深化了木屋细节线条的深浅，以及光与影的变化。
That’s why I painted the background in a blue hue. A wooden villa was put in the golden ratio of the visual sense that I outlined the detail of building structure for many times. According to the light angle radiated at that night, I darkened some lines of the house to enhance the changes of light and shadow.
接着绘画出木屋前的道路和火把，为了营造静态画面中的动感，我描绘了微风中舞动的火焰，偶尔有点点小火星随风飘落。然后进一步勾勒火光散发出的高光部分，调色以绘画出反射到木屋、道路上的光源，来呈现一种温暖感。而后我给天空挥洒了点点繁星，月光照亮了整片区域。月亮上的我正吹着布鲁斯，在黑夜沉沉中，好似坐在了夜的边缘，找寻着心之静。
Then I painted the pavement and a dancing fire to light the mood as if a gentle breeze searching for the warmth. Several sparks found their way to the gravel ground. I added the highlights of the fire, tinting the warm color on the door, bushes, and ground that around the fire. After that, the sky was filled with stars. A pure moon illuminated the night while I was playing the harmonica. I sat on the moon as if I sat at the edge of the night, looking for my inner peace.
最后，我绘画了湖水再一次强调“静”，微微的波纹在静态的画面中，捕获了细微的动感，其倒影又宛如一面镜子，映射了我的内心——独。随即，我的口琴乐飘然而入，跟随着小屋吐出的烟飘向远方，何去何从，永无止境。
I painted a lake and ripples to create trivial motions for the still image. The lake just like the mirror reflected my heart – Alone, I felt. That’s when my harmonica started to be played, capturing this loneliness that along with the smoke from the chimney. It flew away, far from the moon, where was it going, where was it flowing? One thing for certain, it never stopped.
